David Henry is a native Californian (Los Angeles) but has tested the waters
elsewhere e.g. Minnesota, New Jersey, England and North Carolina. Since 1989
he and his wife, Diane, have lived in Encinitas, California, a beach town north of
San Diego. They're not surfer dudes but like the atmosphere. His
formal training is in science and he holds a degree in organic chemistry.
His first career was largely devoted to the discovery and development of new drugs
for the treatment of human disease. David's art works arise from an enduring interest in natural things that has been a life-long parallel to his other science interests. Gardening, camping and working with wood have always seemed natural companions to him. Woodworking especially gratifies because it can be practiced in any season and in any weather. His work has been shown for the past five years at Brandon Gallery in Fallbrook, California, and more recently at Trios Gallery in Solana Beach.
